The Supreme Court on Monday postponed the petition to give additional chance to the candidates with last attest in JEE Advanced 2020. The bench headed by Justice AM Khanwilkar, while hearing the case, directed the counsel for the petitioner to wait for the court’s decision in the petition giving additional opportunity to the UPSC candidates.
Court adjourns hearing in the case
Advocate Mathews J. Nedumpara told the court that due to Corona not being able to appear in the JEE Advanced 2020 exam, candidates who had their last attempt this year should be given one more chance. However, postponing the hearing of the case said that the same principle will apply in this case, which will be done in the petition filed by UPSC. In such a case, the petitioner should wait for the decision of the petition seeking additional demand of UPSC.
Court reserved verdict on UPSC petition
Earlier on February 9, while hearing a petition that gave additional opportunity to the UPSC candidates, reserved their decision in the case. The petition, which was given an additional opportunity, had agreed in the court to give another opportunity to the candidates who had attained their last examination in the examination held last year. However, the Center had also made it clear that only those candidates who have not passed the age of appearing for the examination will get an opportunity.
