It is 2015. It was golden sun on the morning of 1st January. I was preparing to give some new exercises for Super 30 students at the beginning of the new year. A formula to solve any difficult question easily. Students started practicing. I caught my eye in the sun. When he woke up, Sumit was in front. He had brought an auspicious news with sweets in his hand. He got his job. Six years ago, the incident got fresh in my mind as soon as I saw Sumit. Then he was like that in front of me. In poor condition Was narrating her incident.
Started studying in government school
His father Vidyasagar Singh, a resident of Rampur Nagma, a small village in Bihar, worked without money in a college he hoped to get his job in hopes of becoming a government. The family became five children. Eventually he had to quit his job. Sumit’s mother Urmila was worried about the children’s future. She was alone in her maternal home, where she was to get three bighas of land. But after long rounds of court-court she got it. The family was relieved of the worry of food. This family came under the shelter of Nanihal. Vidyasagar got involved in farming. In compulsion, children had to be admitted in the government school itself.
Land had to be sold even in poverty
Studied in the rag house. Sumit said, during rainy days the roof dripped at night. While saving the book-copy from the water, we children read the circle in the light of a lamp. Even when it was difficult to live, the father started selling the land. Sumit passed the Bihar board examination with good marks. There was no situation to go to the city and study. In those days of utter despair, someone told him the way to the Super 30. Then he stood in front of me like this. I added him to my team. He did one day and night. He would answer the question without any hesitation in class.
Admission in IITs due to hard work
In 2010, Imtihan was near. At the same time, his father married Sumit’s elder sister by taking a loan and selling the remaining land. I remember the glow of Sumit’s glowing face after returning from examination. He was also full of confidence on the result day. He got a good rank. Got admission in IIT Kharagpur. Time flew like a feather. As much as Sumit was dedicated in preparing for the exam, he went to IIT and completed his studies as austerity. The good news in the new year was that he got his first job at L&T. The period of success in Sumit’s family did not stop here. His married sister has also become an officer by winning the Bihar Public Service Commission examination. Sumit’s elder brother has also become a teacher in school after studying.
