Russia’s Sergei Lavrov cautions of ‘genuine’ risk of World War III
MOSCOW: Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov stated Monday that peace talks with Ukraine would continue, while warning there was a “genuine” danger of a World War III.
Talking to Russian news companies, he criticised Kyiv’s technique to the talks, including: “Excellent will has its limitations. However if it isn’t reciprocal, that does not assist the negotiation procedure.
“However we are continuing to engage in negotiations with the group entrusted by (Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelensky, and these contacts will go on.”
However Lavrov implicated former star Zelensky of “pretending” to work out.
“He’s an excellent star,” he said.
However he included: “If you enjoy diligently and check out attentively what he says, you’ll discover a thousand contradictions.”
Provided the present stress, Lavrov said the risk of a World War III was “real”.
“The danger is severe, it is genuine, you can’t underestimate it,” Lavrov informed the Interfax news company.
Of the continuous dispute in Ukraine, he stated he was confident that “everything will obviously finish with the signing of an accord.
“But the criteria of this accord will be defined by the state of the fighting that will have happened at the moment the accord becomes reality,” he included.
