The National Testing Agency (NTA) issued a statement amid speculation that the NEET 2021 would increase the examinations twice that this year the exam will be conducted only once. In this regard, NTA DG Vineet Joshi confirmed that the medical entrance examination for graduation courses will be held only once this year. At the same time, the date for the exam will be released soon.
JEE Main is being organized in four years
Earlier, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal had announced to conduct the JEE Main four times a year. Ever since the decision on JEE was taken, the candidates and teachers were taking cognizance of the situation in the Corona epidemic and were seeking to step up NEET’s efforts. In January, the Education Minister also indicated that there might be more internal choice questions for NEET 2021, however, there would be no syllabus reductions.
Admission in AIIMS and JIPMER through NEET
Since last year, admission has also started in the MBBS courses of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (JIPMER) through NEET. In addition, five additional seats are reserved for children of Kashmiri migrants as well as Kashmiri Pandits or Hindu families. Candidates will get a cut-off of up to 10 percent, along with a 5 percent increase in the number of seats in each course for them.
