In view of the fast growing cases of corona in Maharashtra, the government has announced the cancellation of final year exams of universities. Giving information about this, the state government said that all examinations of professional and non-professional courses have been canceled. This decision has been taken for non-professional and professional courses related students of all 14 universities of the state. After this decision, now students will be given marks based on the marks of the previous semester.
More than 10 lakh students will be affected
The CMO also informed that it has been decided to award the degree based on the formula set by the universities. While tweeting on Twitter, the CMO wrote that, ‘It was decided to cancel the last year’s last semester examination of professional and non-professional courses. The government’s decision will have an impact on more than 10 lakh students of the state. This includes 7.3 lakh students in the final year of non-professional courses, while 2.8 lakh students in courses like Engineering, Hotel Management, Architecture, Law.
Examination to be held in July
The examinations are scheduled to be held in July, but this decision has been taken in view of the ever increasing cases of Corona. Maharashtra is the state most affected by Kovid-19 in the country. More than 1 lakh cases have been reported here. At the same time, cases are increasing rapidly here. In such a situation, the examinations in the state have been canceled. At the same time, before this, the state government has also refused to allow the ICSE Board to conduct the remaining examinations of 10th-12th. Apart from this, during the hearing in the Supreme Court, recently the CBSE-ICSE has also canceled the 10th-12th examinations to be held from July 1.
