Now CA students will not have to wait long for the result after giving the paper. The result will be declared within 50 days of the paper. Whereas, earlier the process of declaring the result took two and a half months. Students had to wait for a month to get their copy even for the first re-evaluation, but now students will get to see their paper within just 7 days of applying for it. As a result, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is going to start from this session to maintain simplicity and transparency in the process of checking, evaluation and revaluation of copies on digital platforms.
Paper will be tested online
Earlier, the papers were courier to the examiner, but under the new procedure, students’ papers would be checked online. Now the answer sheet will be scanned and sent. Many times, students write the answers in the beginning and leave the middle pages blank, and some write the answers after these blank pages. Students do not need to panic for this. The examiner will look at all the pages in turn and only then the marks of the tested copy will be uploaded on the portal.
Examiner’s exam
The Examination Committee has also recently decided that, to become an examiner, CA members will also have to take the exam. The 30-minute exam will have 25 questions, in which multiple choice questions will be asked. In this exam, at least 18 questions have to be answered correctly and it will be mandatory to score 72 percent.
Last year, this process was used as an experiment to test only one paper. If successful, all papers will now be checked online. One also has to take the exam to become an examiner. Now the results will be available in 50 days. – CA Zubair Ullah Khan, Chairman, CA Bhaepal Chapter
