Elon Musk says Twitter’s algorithm ‘controling users’
SAN FRANCISCO: Tech billionaire Elon Musk on Sunday said that microblogging site Twitter’s algorithm might be controling users and also recommended an option for that.
Musk, in a series of tweets, mentioned that it is really important to repair the Twitter feed and shared how it can be done.
“You are being manipulated by the algorithm in methods you do not understand. Easy to switch backward and forward to see the distinction,” Musk wrote on the microblogging website.

To fix the Twitter feed, Musk mentioned users can tap the house button, then, tap stars on the upper right of the screen and select “Newest tweets”.
On the other hand, previous CEO Jack Dorsey responded in the tweet and stated that the Twitter algorithm “was developed just to save you time”.
Musk later discussed that he is not recommending any malice in the algorithm.
“I am not suggesting malice in the algorithm, however rather that it is trying to guess what you might wish to check out and, in doing so, inadvertently manipulate/ magnify your perspectives without you realising this is occurring,” Musk wrote.
Just recently, frustrated at the presence of fake users on Twitter after putting the $44 billion takeover offer on hold, the Tesla CEO said that his group was hectic discovering the existence of fake/spam accounts with the random tasting process.
Musk stunned the world by stating that he was putting Twitter take over on hold due to the fact that he does not think in Twitter findings which state that incorrect or spam accounts represent fewer than 5 per cent of its monetisable day-to-day active users (229 million).
