National Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai has recently announced to take online classes throughout the year. In this sequence, now IIT Delhi and IIT Madras have also canceled face to face classes for the upcoming semester. Actually, face to face classes can prove dangerous during the corona epidemic. In such a situation, now classes will be conducted only through online mediums.
Subcommittee report will be followed
IIT Madras along with IIT Delhi have also canceled all face to face lectures for the upcoming semester in view of Corona. After this, now the institute will conduct all its programs only through online mode. Also, IIT Delhi has decided not to open its campus before December this year. In this regard, Director of the institute Ram Gopal Rao said that we have no option for this year. As such, we will follow the report of the subcommittee recommending conducting classes through online mode.
The situation will be reviewed again in October
A report was prepared by a sub-committee of 6 IITs in view of the growing coronavirus in the country. This report was submitted to the Standing Committee of the IIT Council in June. The report suggested that admissions to JEE Main should be as per schedule and that interviews should be conducted online to start the new program from December 2020 to January 2021. However, the institute will review the situation again in October 2020.
