After the CBSE board, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has also decided to cancel the 10th-12th examinations to be held in July. The examinations were scheduled to be held from July 1, which has now been canceled by the CISCE board after the CBSE.
The board told the court that it would evaluate itself according to the CBSE process. However, no decision has been taken as to whether the board examination will be held later. A bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Dutta and Justice SS Shinde heard this through video conferencing.
Board gives opt out option
Earlier, the board also gave the students the option to leave the examination, after which it was said that the result of the student who opted to leave the examination will be decided on the basis of internal assessment. In this regard, the Mumbai High Court had also directed the board to share the marking scheme for such students. However, no such marking scheme has been shared by the board so far.
State government refused to conduct the examination
Earlier in the Mumbai High Court, the state government had made it clear that it could not allow the board to conduct the examination in the state. Actually, the state government took this decision in view of the ever increasing corona case in the state. The exams scheduled for March were postponed due to corona and lockdown.
