A decision can be taken today on the remaining examinations of CBSE 10th-12th. The Supreme Court, while hearing the petition filed by the parents today, can pass judgment on this matter till 2 pm. Earlier in the hearing held on Monday, CBSE had sought two days time from the court for a decision on the examinations. The apex court then adjourned the hearing till 25 June 2020. The board will present its side of the examination before the court today.

Board can adopt alternative method

If the examinations are canceled, the board can pass the students on the basis of a special marking scheme. However, students can appear in the exam later to improve their performance. According to sources, it is not possible to conduct CBSE examination from July 1 to July 15 in view of the increasing cases of corona in the country. Any further delay may hinder students from getting admission in higher education institutions. A total of 29 subjects are to be tested. Out of these, 6 subject exams are to be conducted for students of 10th class in North-East Delhi. They were postponed due to the riots in Delhi. There are 12 subjects of 12th examination to be conducted across the country. At the same time, in North East Delhi, besides these 12, 11 more main subjects are to be tested.

Petition filed in Supreme Court

Earlier, a group of parents filed a petition in the Supreme Court to cancel the CBSE examination. Hearing this, the court asked the board to consider canceling the examination. At the same time, in view of the worsening situation of Corona, there is a demand to cancel JEE (Main), JEE (Advanced) and NEET. According to sources, the national entrance examinations like JEE (Main), JEE (Advanced) and NEET are unlikely to be canceled. These exams can be postponed further, but will not be canceled.
