Additional Knowledge- The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has ranked Odisha first and Uttar Pradesh second and the national capital Delhi third in the list of most polluted sites. CPCB has released the list of 112 most polluted sites in the country. It has identified 23 sites in Odisha and 21 in Uttar Pradesh, while the list includes 11 such polluted sites in Delhi. According to the environment ministry, the polluted areas are areas where the amount of toxic and hazardous substances in the garbage and waste is affecting the health of the people living nearby.
Additional Knowledge- Film actor Amitabh Bachchan will be honored with the 2021 FIAF Award by the ‘International Federation of Film Archives’ on 19 March. Big B will be honored with the award by renowned international directors Christopher Nolan and Martin Scosigie. He will be given this award for his dedication and contribution to the preservation of World Film Heritage. Amitabh will be the first Indian to receive this award. The organization was founded by film producer and archivist Shivendra Singh Dungarpur. It is a non-profit organization that works for the preservation, restoration, documentation, exhibition and study of India’s film heritage.
Additional Knowledge- Mithali Raj, captain of the Indian women’s ODI team, achieved another record in the third ODI against South Africa. She has become the second woman in the world and the first woman cricketer in India to complete 10,000 runs in international cricket. Mithali has scored 10,001 runs at an average of 46.73 in his career so far. Prior to Mithali, former England captain Charlett Edwards has made this record. Charlett has 10,273 runs in international cricket. Mithali is just 272 runs behind breaking his record.
Additional Knowledge- Surekha Yadav of Maharashtra has once again recorded her name. Surekha, who became India’s first female train driver in 1988, made history. But now in 2021, he has once again set a record. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Indian Railways took the initiative to leave Mumbai-Lucknow special train Surekha brought trains from Mumbai to Lucknow, whose entire staff was female. The first female driver of the railway in this train was Surekha Yadav, TTE and other supporting staff were women.

Since its inception, Seravić is held in Harueston every year in March. It is counted among the world’s leading energy forums.
Additional Knowledge- Vinesh Phogat has once again become the number one wrestler in the world by winning a gold medal in the 53 kg weight category in women’s wrestling in Rome. This is Vinesh’s second gold medal in the second week of the Matio Palicon Ranking Wrestling Series. World Championship bronze medalist Vinesh Tokyo, 26, is the only Indian woman wrestler to qualify for the Olympic Games. She defeated Diana Marie Helen Wecker of Canada 4–0.

Additional Knowledge- Union Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Anurag Thakur has become the first Union Minister to be promoted as a Captain in the Territorial Army as a regular commissioned officer. Thakur has been promoted to the rank of Captain in the 124 Infantry Battalion Territorial Army (Sikh). Earlier, Indian cricket team players Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni were awarded honorary degrees by the Indian Army.

Additional Knowledge- The BBC Indian Sportswomen of the Year Award was launched in 2019 to honor the country’s best female players and highlight the challenges and issues facing women sportspersons in India. This award has been won by Koneru Hampi for the year 2020. Koneru Hampi is the current winner of the World Rapid Chase Championship. She won the title in 2019 after two years of maternity leave. Along with this, she is also the winner of the Cairns Cup 2020.
5 women players were nominated for the award. It included athlete Duti Chand, chess champion Koneru Hampi, shooter Manu Bhakar, wrestler Vinesh Phogat and current Indian women’s field hockey team captain Rani Rampal.
Additional Knowledge- Indian Super League (ISL) team FC Goa will host Group E matches of AFC Champions League (ACL) at Fatorda Stadium in Madgaon. The Confederation of Asian Football (AFC) on Thursday confirmed the venues for the group stage matches of ACL 2021 and for this, Goa has been selected to host Group E matches. Earlier Goa has also hosted the matches of the 2017 FIFA Under-17 World Cup and the 2016 AFC Under-16 Championship.
