Aeroflot resumes twice weekly Delhi-Moscow direct from today

NEW DELHI: India and Russia will as soon as again have direct connectivity with Aeroflot resuming a twice weekly Delhi-Moscow from Friday (May 6). While Aeroflot had suspended this service precisely 2 months back, Air India stopped its Delhi-Moscow this March-end as the restored insurance coverage cover for the Maharaja’s aircraft did not cover them for flying to Russia. Russian carriers had stopped all international paths as lessors in U.S.A., UK and Europe recalled their airplanes. Aeroflot has been disallowed from many worldwide circulation systems.
From Friday, Aeroflot will fly its own 293-seater three-class setup (company, premium economy and economy) Airbus A330 every Monday and Friday from Delhi to Moscow. Delmos Air travel, which represents Aeroflot in India, said the lack of direct connectivity between India and Russia had led to hold-ups in crucial pharma shipments. “DG deliveries, temperature-sensitive drugs, maker parts were being routed via 3rd countries leading to delays and cost escalation triggering difficulty to Indian exporters,” it said in a declaration.
“The resumption of flights will increase the recovering tourist market in both nations. With lesser alternatives offered worldwide, India is looking forward to welcoming substantial variety of Russian travelers this year,” it added.
Delmos Aviation director Naveen Rao said: “It (resumption of direct flights) will reduce the travel of trainees, business and leisure visitors. Travelers will be able to book tickets from Delmos Air travel … We can assure guests of … total safety … will help enhance cargo movement. Since of (direct flight) suspension, pharma companies were sending the essential pharma supplies through longer routes. It was a lengthy and costly proposition for all”.
Delmos stated it is open to “accepting all special commodities (as cargo), including DG shipments. We will continue to cater and supply direct service to Moscow and connections to other Russian sectors and CIS destinations.”
