Blind Madan Gopal Menaria
These are 53-year-old blind Madan Gopal Menaria, resident of Kharsan (Vallabhnagar) in Udaipur district. People call them Hariom affectionately. Were smart in studies, but got typhoid in 1980. Then there was not much development in the field of medicine, nor in the field of education. Hariom recovered, but the eyesight went away.
He was a ninth grade student then. When I grew up, I was forced to beg. The desire to study was a pity to remain unfulfilled, so it was decided that no child of his area will be deprived of studies for lack of facilities. The money collected from temples started reaching the temple of education. It has been 30 years of begging him.
So far, about 10 lakh development works have been done in many government schools including construction of rooms, construction of water tank. Children also afford stationery. Out of the amount of begging, using the least amount of food and drink, donate the rest of the money to the schools.
Hariom is the biggest Bhamashah of state government Kharsan.
Donate the entire amount of begging
Hariom, who awaken the education in the region, donate the entire amount received as alms outside the temples. Hemendra Pujari of the Jagdish temple states that Madan Gopal sits outside the temple on the day of Ekadashi for many years. During this time, the devotees visiting the temple donate them with reverence. He is seen outside Eklingji temple every Monday.
Speaking about his childhood, Hariom says – Father Chhaganlal Menaria retired from Bank Accountant post 20 years ago, mother Parbu Bai was a housewife. Bhai Rajendra is the photographer. Hariom says – even though I could not read, but will not let any child in my field miss the studies.
From black board to room, they also provide stationery.

5 times respected collector, even the Governor received the honor
Hariom has been awarded for his work five times. In 2003-04, the then Governor of Gujarat Nawal Kishore Sharma honored and District Education Officer and Collector have also honored. There is a purpose of his life – all the time of life, go out in good deeds.
